p1574 error code kicks off cruise control and abs light comes on.

Question

have noticed the cruise control kick off and abs light come on. The speedometer drops way down (example: while traveling at 65 mph the speedometer might read 35-40 mph). The speedometer will actually start working properly again even with the abs light still on. Have noticed that vehicle sits for a while and seems to operate properly.

Hi there,

The P1574 code is for the cruise control switch on the steering wheel. This however will not make the abs light come on. The ABS module has to be scanned for codes, then once you know the problem perform the repair and then if the cruise code keeps coming back replace the switch on the steering wheel.
