P0716 CHEVROLET - Will doing a transmission service on it be a first step?

2004 Buick Regal P0716 code  Should I first do a transmission service?  Mabe this will solve shifting problems.

Hi there

The first step should be replacing the turbine speed sensor. If it doesn't resolve the code then it usually means there is a wiring problem.
