P0446 Evaporative emission control system vent control circuit malfunction

When you get this code condition the PCM monitors the performance of the EVAP system by applying a predetermined amount of vacuum to the EVAP system and monitor the vacuum decay rate, there are several reason P0446 set, a failed fuel cap or improperly secured, the EVAP vent valve, or a false report from the FTP (Fuel tank pressure sensor).The fuel tank pressure sensor is located on top of the fuel pump module.which is more likley the reason for P0446, and the EVAP vent which may be the cause of P0446 which is located near the spare tire,which will have to be removed to access the EVAP vent solenoid.
