I reset the check engine light and it would run almost all day with out it on

most likely the catalytic converter is bad, do you feel any performance issues or everything is fine? 

if there is no performance 90% of the time the catalytic converter is bad 

Possible causes

- Three way catalyst converter Bank 1

- Exhaust tube

- Intake air leaks

- Fuel injectors may be faulty

- Fuel injector leaks

- Spark plugs may be faulty

- Improper ignition timing

- Engine Control Module (ECM)
