the motor is kinda rough!! and it cant be driven fast like something holds the engine back,so i was told it's the catalyst in the exhaust is clogged and either to replace it or remove it ( the engine check light was not on). As it costs so much to be replaced i removed them temporarily and the car was like i drive it for the first time nicely fast and flexible yet there were a little bit of noise coming from the exhaust. two days after removing the cats the engine light turns on and give me P0420 code error and when i checked in the web it could be the Catalytic Converter failure. now i dont really know what to do next and how to fix this.

PS: two cats were removed. the middle one and also the upper one up near the engine and the one behind i was told it is just a filter not a cat.

any reply will be appreciated

P0420 is a catalytic code where it can not perform its job and that is to remove harmful emission that the vehicle produces.if it is plugged then yes it will rob the engine of its performance. Removing it will cause P0420 because the engine does not see the catalytic convertor.
