P0790 - shift solenoid

I had my shift solenoid (RL078723AD VALVE BOD-COMPLETE) replaced one year ago on my 2008 Town and Country....the same issue has come up again and needs to be fixed all over. Is this normal? What is the longevity of the part? This is a costly repair to have done yearly, correct?
