I have a 2000 Dodge 2500 with a Cummins 5.9 L engine. The truck is displaying a P 1693 code, and the parts house says that it has broken that down to a P 0336 code. Their problem sheet says that it could be a faulty crank position sensor, loose or damaged wires to the sensor, or weak batteries, or even a faulty ECM. That is a fairly wide variety of possibilities. I know that the batteries are good and no wiring damage has been detected. Should my next step be to replace the CKP?
