2000 Chrysler Voyager 2wd with 175k miles. Was driving on a 55mph street, came to a light, slowed down to around 30 or 40, (probably downshifted to 2nd) changed lanes and accelerated when I did this the motor rpm raced up, sounded like it was in neutral. Then it went into limp mode. Stopped, checked fluid which is clear/red and I drove it home at around 30 mph. Engine light went on. The next day I disconnected battery, drove car shifted from 1st to 2nd then when I slowed to a stop and stayed in second, engine light went on again. Took to autozone, the only code it got was P0733. About 5 years ago I had the car go into limp mode on a very hot day (yesterday was humid but around 80 degrees this time) and they replaced the solenoid and did not have any problems since then although there have been somewhat harder shifting happen at times. Thanks for any info that could help!
The code explanation was Gear Ration Error in Third Gear, The ECM has detected that the transmission input RPM does not matche the transmission output RPM under Known conditions. Probably causes 1.Check other service codes (none there) 2.TSS error 3.Poor electrical connection 4.Internal transmission fault
Additional driving of the car, it shifts from 1st to 2nd then just winds out in 3rd. It has been a while since changing fluid, but the level was ok when I checked it.
