P0700 KIA -

Question

PO700 in a 2007 Kia Sportage. AC only works intermittently. One person said there is no connection but another said that the transmission may be going into Limp Mode which in turn will cause the AC to shut down. Code PO711 also frequently comes up in addition to PO700.

P0700 means that there is a problem with the transmission, but it doesn't say exactly what the problem is. The P0711 code means that the transmission fluid temperature is out of factory specifications. You should start by inspecting the transmission fluid level and condition.

 

Although it's possible that the problem with the transmission it's causing the problem with the A/C system, it's probably a different issue.
