2004 Buick Rainier AWD V-8 check engine light on. Codes U1016 and P0493

Had it checked at Auto Zone. He said these codes have to do with the cooling fan relay and to replace it. 334

P0493 Cooling fan clutch overspeed condition

U01016 Loss of class 2 communication

He is right, you can spend more time testing the relay, more than any other situation this is the relay,or the fan clutch it is to your advantage you replace the fan relay first.
