the check engine light keeps coming up every time and taken for repair three times after an accident. had the rare bumper and tank repaired but the light keeps coming up even after changing a broken tube and changed a sensor. the last time the car even stalled and started up again after several trials and a full tank of gas. Could it be that the fuel gauge not telling me the right thing?

HI there,

This code is for a problem with the purge solenoid. It's stuck open from the sounds of it and will allow the fuel vapors to go into the intake manifold and cause the starting issues. This hasn't got anything to do with the fuel tank on the vehicle, it's strictly emissions. You should check the solenoid to see if it's stuck open or if there is a constant short to it causing it to stay open.
