P1876 - 05 Cadillac SRX two wheel drive - why am I getting this code?

I'm getting a P1876 code - Transfer Case 2 wheel drive solenoid failure - on a 05 Cadillac SRX two wheel drive? Does anybody have a idea why? When accelerating the car feels like the transmission is slipping, however AAMCO did a transmission check and said there was no issues! They never mentioned a P1876 code! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

The problem is most likely in the shifter assembly, have you spilled coffee or water on or near the shifter? Seen this many times. 

if you have not, the shifter may need to be adjusted or replaced

try to erase the code first and see if it comes back.
