This trouble code is for a lean condition where there is more air than fuel ratio.False air can set this condition that get past the MAF (mass air flow) . Try a MAF cleaning with a throttle body cleaning. It is also adviseable to check the the sparkplug and its condition P0171 can also be set by worn sparkplugs. If P0171 condition is persistent you may have to check mechanical condition
