2000 Toyota Avalon with engine code P0330, what is a knock sensor?
The knock sensor is attached to the cylinder block. It senses engine knocking using a piezoelectric element. A knocking vibration from the cylinder block is sensed as vibrational pressure. This pressure is converted into a voltage signal and sent to the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Labor wise it will take at least 2 hours to replace both sensors, and I would suggest you also replace the short harness it is less than $50. Knock sensor part number is 89615-12090 and they are $150-$200 each at the dealer
