I have a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban LT 5.3L 4WD 1500 and replaced the purge, canister, harness, and hose and had the light turned off but came back in a week, now what can it be? When I turn it off it began to give me fumes smell again by the gas cap in which I had also changed.

P0445 Evaporative Emission Control Sytem Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted.

With this code condition there is no purge ,and as a result the canister collect fuel fumes and can not be sent to the intake to be utilized. Is there any code condition beside P0445 ? There are other sensor that are in circuit  with the Purge solenoid which may be contributing to this code condition.. As for the fuel smell Chevy has produced a TSB for the relocation of the EVAP vent. This code  is for P0446 ,P0442,P0445.TSB # 02-06-04-037J., this may also apply to your vehicle.
