P0016 Ford - Crankshaft Position Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 1 Sensor 'A'

Possible causes

- Camshaft position sensor intermittent connection

- Crankshaft position sensor intermittent connection

- Faulty camshaft position sensor

- Faulty crankshaft position sensor

- Engine mechanical problems

 

is the cars idle high? when this code comes on the engine might go to fail safe mode and will raise the RPM or wont let you rev over 3000RPM 

when was the last time you replaced the oil? if it was over 4k miles it might be a dirty oil issue.

since your car is a 2012 if you are under warranty the dealer will fix the issue at no cost
