I have a 2003 Cadillac Escalade that is giving me the P1626 code. I was told there may be a series I could do to fix this. Is there something I could do besides adding more new parts? Car isnt starting on the first try. Already replaced the fuel pressure regulator.

Vehicle: 2003, Cadillac Escilade, 6.0 Vortec

P1626 Vehicle Theft Deterent.

With this code fuel is disabled. In order for this code to occur the anti theft was enabled and was allowed a start. The reason it will not start is due to its Fail Enable status. Where a VTD (vehicle theft deterent) did not send a password to the PCM . This can be from a improper operation of the ignition switch or even a wrong key.If you need to get this vehicle started you will need to leave the key in the on position without starting it. You will also need to have a battery booster on the battery or a battery being jump at the same time. The key needs to be in the on position till the anti-theft light goes out which may take 15 minutes to 1 hour. or maybe less. Once the anti theft light goes out cycle the key (this primes the fuel pump) and start the vehicle. To prevent future theft deterent  until you can get this repaired, disable the system access the ignition lock cylinder base , there you will see 3 wires a Red/White, a Black wire and a Yellow wire. (they are all together on a harness do not confuse this with the Air bag wire) The engine needs to be running cut the yellow wire at a point where you can reconnect the wire and this disables the Anti-theft .
