if i changed my neutral saftey switch and put it in wrong will the car still run fine?

i changed the neutral saftey switch. if i put it in in the wrong position will my expedition still run fine. i also changed my transmission speed sensor what else could it be

P0705 Digital TR (transmission range) sensor

If you have installed it wrong you will have a invalid pattern the outcome will be a harsh shift,the transmission may default to Drive or 2 on the maual gear. To properly install the Range Sensor you will need the adjusting tool for this
