I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7L V8 and I have two OBD codes P0731 and P1784. What do these codes mean?

Both codes are related to the transmission. If there are no other symptoms, like shifting problems, then you could just change the transmission fluid and clear the codes. If the problem persists or if you have shifting problems, then I recommend taking your Jepp to a transmission shop for further diagnosis.
