check engine light comes on at various times and stays on for a week. then it goes away again for a week. what would cause this?

P0171 Fuel system lean

This can be cause by vacuum leak or MAF (mass air flow) that is not correctly reporting. or low fuel pressure . There is also a Recall on this vehicle that fuel pump module TSB 12190A..Do a MAF cleaning and inspect for any vacuum leak that will cause a lean condition
