PO442- Accompanied by hesitation upon acceleration.

Question

Upon acceleration under heavy load; uphill, snow, highway entrance ramp, i experience hesitation and a jumping of tachometer readings between 1.5k-2k RPM. Which cause of PO442 is most likely given these circumstances?

P0442 Evap system (small leak)

The Evap system will not cause hesitation or a jumping tach at all , this is more a FTP (fuel tank pressure) sensor not reading right. What you have is a misfire this can more likely be from sparkplug wire, sparkplug and ignition coils.
