P0328 Subaru -

Question

I have a 2001 Subaru impreza i have had the knock sensor replaced as the code P0328 shown i had the car running for a week after replacement running perfectly without any hesitation or power loss. The code has shown again and the surging is happening again. Why is this happening could it be an electrical fault ?? The mechanic said to rewire the knock sensor to the ECU as the next step

The problem only occurs when the engine is hot and once the code repaired the car was sluggish

You are probably getting the code because of the way the car is running. I have changed several of these and the sensor itself has never affected the way the engine was running. Look for another cause for the running issue to resolve this. Likely the front O2 sensor has failed.
