P0111 Subaru - CEL alternates on and off every 3 or 4 days

CEL light comes on then goes out 3 or 4 days later only to come back on in 3 or 4 days. Only code I get is P0111 and the CEL has done this on/off cycle four times now in the last couple weeks. Gas mileage has stayed consistently good regardless of whether light is on and there is no other noticeable loss of performance.

P0111 Intake air temperature circuit range/performance

If this sensor gets faulty there will be no noticeable drivabilty difference,It take a vehicles ECM to determine if this sensor is faulty, One of the jobs of the ECM is to look for open circuit, short circuit, and rationality. The intake air temperature sensor is also classified as a class B, which is why if you clear this code it will take a complete monitor to go to ready,before the ECM finds it faulty.
