My 2006 Toyota Avalon XLS 3.5L V6 has a P0441 code for evaporative emission system. How do I fix this?

This code condition represent the purge valve as being stuck open or stuck closed , What usually set this code is when the air filter is replaced there is a hose that the purge valve atttatches to on the air filter housing, this tends to get disconnected and as a result set this code.
