I indeed had a check engine light to come on, I stopped the truck removed the gas cap, and the reinstalled it. After reaching my destination shutting down the engine, letting the vehicle sit for about 3 hours, and starting it back up the light was out. I came home disconnected the battery for a battery change, connected my scanner and got the P1000 code. Do I need to just drive the thing for about a half hour or so?

P1000 Readiness monitor not complete.

You need to do a 2 trip cycle, Or at least 2 ignition cycle One ignition cycle is when the engine is at cold operating temperature and reaches a normal operating temperature with normal driving, This you will have to do twice.
