po701 code car seems fine. Driven 150 miles since code, Seems alright.2006 ford 500

Question

My wife called me from a neighboring town, she said engine light was on along with a wrench symbol. The road was icy, and they came on after the wheels had slipped while taking off from a stop. When she got home I checked the stored code and it was po701. The car drove home fine and I cleared the code. Drove it to work all seems fine,but the wrech symbol appeared again. Any suggestions. The car has CVT transmission and AWD. Mileage is approx. 116000 miles.

P0700 Transmission fault detected, MIL light requested

P0701 TR (transmission range ) sensor circuit

This can be a intermittent condition that has happen, being a all wheel drive and having a CVT (continously variable transmission). Usually when P0701 appear the vehicle goes to limp  home mode , and goes to lack/ loss of acceleration. If the transmission does not exhibit any of these condition check for other DTC code, and have the code cleared.
