P0303 Jeep -

Question

I have a 1998 Jeep Grande Cherokee Laredo and the engine light came on when checking the next day I had 1 code the P0303 but it is no longer on I just had the fuel pump replaced in March.

P0303 Misfire number 3 cylinder

Misfire means that that cylinder is not contributing, this can be from sparkplug,or plugwire,to fuel injector, If the misfire is no longer there a closer inspection will reveal what the cause is, If this was a fuel pump problem you would tend to get a random misfire or a muliple misfire.

Thank you for your response.  I make only short trips with my Jeep maybe 3 to 4 miles at a time for an average of once or twice a week.  I made a one way 75 mile trip and then the Jeep sat for 3 days.  When I started the Jeep to go back with a 75 mile trip the engine light was on.  I had noticed slight sputtering about a week prior to either 75 mile trip is this from the short trip driving?  If so will a regular fuel injector cleaner that you add to the gas tank fix this problem?
