As I explainjed in the question I change the oil as required by Toyota every 5K miles and it is free as part of my purchase plan the vehicle is a 2004 4runner. The truck runs great but the check engine light is on. The bozo's at the dealer say my timming chain needs to be replaced to the tune of $3,000 funny because the truck runs great. I had the codes read again by a friend and he showed it to me P0016 and then he turned the lights off. It was so nice to see the light off because it has been annoying me for several months. However within 15 minutes the lights were back on. Can anyone help or tell me a solution that wont cost me $3K I am about to have my mechanic friend permanetly disable the lights

Vehicle: 2004 Toyota 4Runner V6
