I Have a 1996 Honda Accord Vtec Engine F22B1 - Can you assist in resolving this?

Information I have on the problem - @ 500 rpms - ignition advance minus 10.5,
The distributor has a 5 pin connector - checking both sides of the connector for continuity from each pin to a body ground the 2 side by side pins in the distributor side of the connection do not have continuity. Performing this test with the battery connected and disconnected do not change the results of the test.
