tranny seems to have extra fluid level. very sluggish on takeoff then goes fine.clunking when shifting to reverse.

how are you checking the fluid level? the car needs to be warmed up, driven a few miles and with the car running.

 

if you have not serviced the transmission fluid, you might want to replace it also. But I think you problem is going be broken wire at the connector or relay. Location of the relay is on the passenger compartment. It is behind the panel to the right of the gas pedal, and bolted to the floor along side the PCM
