MY Santa Fe does not like to start after putting gas in the car. You have to crank and crank before it will start. However, if the Santa Fe is left running while fueling, most of the time it will continue to run, but it idles rough and a gurgling noise come from inside the tank. Once the fueling is done and the cap is put back on, the idling smooth's out.

Hi there

A very common issue with these is the purge control solenoid valve. It sticks open and when you fuel up the car it allows the fuel vapors into the intake manifold. This floods the engine which is why it is hard to start.
