Service Code - P0161

Question

Could this code be from faulty exhaust such as converters needing replaced or incorrect size of an exhaust system? I seam to think from these posts about this code that the problem is only the sensor itself. Does this sensor not detect fuel air ratios or anything else for exhaust problems and or incorrect fuel air ratio?

HI there,

This code is for the heater circuit on the bank 2 sensor 2 O2 sensor. This is the sensor after the cat converter on bank 2. Most of the time the sensor itself is the culprit or the wiring. The exhaust system won't usuaally cause this.
