It can be to cause by bad one speed to sensor ?

P0731 Trans axle 1st gear  No 1st gear

When you have no first gear, this can be caused by hydraulic pressure not holding,or a 1st clutch worn out, As for a sensor it would have to a input speed sensor,or a turbine shaft speed sensor, You can also loose first gear by a speed sensor , but you would have to have a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) code with P0731
