where is the transmission range sensor located on a 2002 mercury mountaineer?

HI there,

The range sensor is mounted to the side of the transmission under the shift cable. It's external and simple to replace. It does need adjustment after you replace it to make sure the functions work. As long as it starts in park, and in neutral it should be good to go.
