P0401 PONTIAC - what symptoms would the car havr if the egr is faulty

My car has a rough idle and a little noise from the tailpipe. Also it occaisionally cuts off when returning to idle

Vehicle: 1996 pontiac sunfire 2.2L

P0401 Exhaust flow insufficient

The code  the vehicle you have is flow insufficient,either  the EGR passage is plugged or the EGR is non operational,A open EGR will cause rough idle  and stalling when coming to a stop.
