protocol specification for OBD2 is required. where can i get it

I need to implement obd2 tester to read fault codes from my car. ined to implement the services on my linux board and request the data.
How can i do that.

The information is a proprietary information from each manufacture and usually you have to buy it from them. Scanner companies buy the information form the manufacture.

I mean, the OBD2 protocol stack on tester tool. I need to start the diag session before any requests, these kind of specification, which is generic to any CAR. Could you please tell where can i get this info?
