P0430 and p1168 are the 2 codes dmv pulled out. What is the real malfunction.

Question

Helping my son out. 2001 Nissan Maxima check engine light on. Dmv pulled codes p0430 and p1168. I have only found 3 ox senors 1 front of motor, 1 pass. side of motor and 3 rd before cat. conv.. Have no book on car. No idea of what bank 2 is. But it say sensor 1 bank 2 tells me front of motor correct if not tell me where i can look up. thanks

HI there,

The front of the engine is bank2 and the code is for the first sensor on bank 2. So, you are correct there. I would start with the sensor although I have seen the converters fail as well, so you may need both on this.
