the service engine soon light has just come on and the only trouble code detected was p0300 what are the possible causes and/or fixes?

There can be several different causes for the random misfire code. Most common these would be either an issue with the head gasket or the mass air flow sensor. Timing can be off, the converter can be plugged. You can have low fuel pressure or a vacuum leak. Each must be tested to determine the cause of this code.
