The P0496 code is showing up twice on my 2006 KIA Rio 5 1.6L

Hello I have code P0496 shown on my obd 2 last year the kia garage had to clean something to pass inspection and it is the same thing this year, I am hoping to do it myself to save money this year. Wud you have any idea what they might have done?

P0496 EVAP emission system-high purge flow

The canister purge solenoid is stuck open, If they clean anything it probably was the terminal connection, you can try that, just disconnect it and use brake cleaner to clean

 

reconnect, clear the code, and test drive, It will take up tp 2 drive cycles or 2 cold starts for the monitor to set,, and from there you will know if it comes up.
