P0984 - 2005 ford focus

code po984 shift solenoid e control circuit performance. car shifts fine for about two miles then od off light flashes and car will not shift into 3rd. itwants to just wont. need help in fixing problem. already inspected solenoids in trans and have replaced solenoid a before and fixed problem but now code po984 any solutions

P0984 Is shift solenoid E, functional failure, Are you getting any other code beside shift solenoid E, if you get a output sensor code then you need to address that one first,If this is the code by it self it just a failed solenoid,The ECM supplys battery voltage to turn the shift solenoid on, You can test for power ,which you should do first,and make sure the ECM driver is not at fault,
