My car started with Engine Service check lights on - checked at dealer - found P0420 code, and did Engine oil flush, replaced Gasket (rear) along the checkup; and ECM was reset to off before jumping onto repairing CAT Converter. The light. came back again. The diagnosis was P0420 - Bank 1 CAT Converter problem.

As I lokked up P0420 information, it seems that "Intake Air Leaks" may trigger this warning, not necessary requiring CAT Converter replacement.
I was not aware of a recall on Yr2003-2007 models on "Intake Air Leak" problem on Murano, which is a listed possible problem with the code P0420.

Dealer machanic did not refer about this recall check point.

Before getting into "replacing" CAT Converter (which is really expensive job), should I ask Nissan Dealer to look into it as "Intake Air Leaks" recall subject ?

By doing so, would it be more clear what the problem with P0420 warning on my car ?   Should I anyway request the checkup/repair on the recall subject regardless of this P0420 issue -- I heard that the recall was around Yr2009 .............

You do need to have the vehicle checked for open recalls. The dealer should do this when the vehicle is in there and it's possible it's not a recall vehicle. The poitential is there for it to actually need the converter, but everything else should be checked first.
