Code P2719 2014 GMC Sierra Description

The pressure control solenoid 4 is part of the control solenoid valve assembly which has no serviceable parts. The normally low-pressure control solenoid 4 regulates and directs oil pressure to the 2-6 clutch regulator valve. Increasing pressure control solenoid 4 pressure increases pressure to the 2-6 clutch regulator valve. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) varies the current to the pressure control solenoid 4 through a low-side driver. Increasing the current to pressure control solenoid 4 increases oil pressure by closing OFF the solenoid exhaust port. Decreasing the current to pressure control solenoid 4 decreases oil pressure by opening the exhaust port. Pressure control solenoid 4 power is supplied by the Transmission Control Module through a high side driver. The high-side driver protects the circuit and components from excessive current flow. If excessive current flow is detected, the high side driver will turn OFF. When the fault is corrected the high-side driver will reset.
The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the Transmission Control Module detects an internal electrical malfunction on the pressure control solenoid 4 control circuit where the measured pressure control solenoid 4 current does not equal the commanded pressure control solenoid 4 current for 5 s.

1. What does the OBDII code P2719 mean on a 2014 GMC Sierra?

The P2719 code indicates an issue with the Pressure Control Solenoid 4 system, which is responsible for regulating hydraulic pressure in the transmission for smooth shifting.

2. What are the common symptoms of the P2719 code in a 2014 GMC Sierra?

Symptoms may include harsh or erratic shifting, a slipping transmission, poor acceleration, and the Check Engine Light being illuminated.

3. What causes the P2719 code on a 2014 GMC Sierra?

Common causes include a faulty pressure control solenoid, low or dirty transmission fluid, a damaged transmission valve body, or wiring/connector issues in the transmission control system.

4. Can I drive my 2014 GMC Sierra with the P2719 code?

While the vehicle may still be drivable, continuing to drive with this code can cause further transmission damage and lead to more costly repairs.

5. How do I fix the P2719 code on a 2014 GMC Sierra?

Repairs may involve replacing the faulty pressure control solenoid, flushing and replacing the transmission fluid, repairing damaged wiring or connectors, or replacing the transmission valve body if necessary.

6. How is the P2719 code diagnosed on a 2014 GMC Sierra?

A technician will use a scan tool to confirm the code, inspect the transmission fluid condition, check the wiring and connectors, and test the operation of the pressure control solenoid.

7. Can low transmission fluid cause the P2719 code on a 2014 GMC Sierra?

Yes, low or dirty transmission fluid can affect hydraulic pressure and lead to the P2719 code being triggered.

8. How much does it cost to repair the P2719 code on a 2014 GMC Sierra?

Repair costs can vary but typically range from $200 to $600, depending on whether the solenoid, wiring, or valve body needs replacement.
