Code P2199 Acura Description
Two Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensors and two Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensors are used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). When the engine is stopped and enough time has passed, the temperatures of each sensor will equalize to the ambient temperature. The IAT sensor 2 failure is detected by comparing the sensor value difference of IAT sensor 1 and IAT sensor 2 after ECT sensor 1, ECT sensor 2, and IAT sensor 1 correlations are judged as normal. If the temperature difference between IAT sensor 1 and IAT sensor 2 exceeds a normal range, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
