Code P2135 Chevrolet Description

The Throttle Body Assembly contains a contact-less inductive throttle position sensing element that is managed by a customized integrated circuit. The throttle position sensor is mounted within the throttle body assembly and is not serviceable. The Engine Control Module (ECM) supplies the throttle body with a 5 V reference circuit, a low reference circuit. The asynchronous signal means communication is only going from the throttle body to the ECM. The throttle body cannot receive data from the ECM over the signal/serial data circuit. The throttle position sensor provides a signal voltage that changes relative to throttle blade angle. The throttle position sensor information is transmitted between the throttle body and the ECM on the signal/serial data circuit. The ECM decodes the serial data signal and is used as voltages for throttle position sensor 1 and 2. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the ECM detects that throttle position sensors 1 and 2 disagree greater than 7 - 10 percent for greater than 1 s.

Discuss the causes and fixes for P2135 Chevrolet OBDII Code

  • Upon leaving a store parking lot codes P0220 & P2135 were set. The digital readout in the driver info center spelled 'REDUCED ENGINE POWER". The engine would not rev past 2000 rpm (6.0 ltr gas in a 2005 HD2500 Silverado). Once home my ACTRON scanner ID'd these codes. Codes were cleared and all is now OK.

  • I had the same problem with my 2011 impala. Lost engine power and my brakes gave out. I parked it and turned it over a couple times. It's working fine now but it was a little sketchy. I'm going to drive it back to work which is about 15 km away from where I live to assess it. I made the mistake of not warming the car up with it being -15 degrees out in conjunction with a heavy hoar frost that's set in. I'll follow up tomorrow.
