P1D7A - Reactor Temperature Sensor Range/Performance Problem
P1D7A Possible Causes
- Faulty Reactor Temperature Sensor
- Reactor Temperature Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Reactor Temperature Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Motor Control Module (Traction)
First diagnose P1D7A code
Check the "Possible Causes" listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
Cost of diagnosing the P1D7A code
Labor: 1.0The cost of diagnosing the P1D7A code is 1.0 hour of labor. The auto repair labor rates vary by location, your vehicle's make and model, and even your engine type. Most auto repairs shops charge between $75 and $150 per hour.
P1D7A Possible Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
P1d7a DescriptionThe motor power inverter (MPI) module (traction/generator) and the voltage control unit (VCU) are cooled by the motor control module (traction) which operates the electric motor control module coolant pump monitoring the coolant temperature and the temperature of various components and sends a request for operation of the radiator fan to the powertrain control module (PCM). Since the reactor temperature and the IGBT temperature become nearly identical immediately after the engine is started when it is sufficiently cooled down, the motor control module (traction) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC when the difference between the reactor temperature and the IGBT temperature is equal to or more than the prescribed value continuously for the prescribed time or more.
