Code P1A05 GMC Description

The Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) will diagnose its own systems and determine when a fault condition is present. Diagnostics and system status is communicated from the battery energy control module to the hybrid powertrain control module through serial data. The hybrid powertrain control module is the host controller for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information. The EBECM monitors to detect an Random Access Memory (RAM), Read Only Memory (ROM), Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EPROM) or controller stack overrun. The EBECM sets the OBDII code when the RAM, ROM, EPROM or controller stack overrun is not to factory specifications.
This diagnostic applies to internal microprocessor integrity conditions within the battery energy control module. This fault is internal to the battery energy control module and no external circuits are involved.
