Hook a scanner to my 2003 Jeep gc Laredo..gave code 1763..the over drive light goes on and off along with the transmission temp light...also does not shift...does this sound right for the code??...also when I turn the key on and off 3 times the dash gives the codes p0713 and 1763...but the scanner only gives the 1763.....any answers please or suggestions???

Unfortunately I don't have much experience with your vehicle, but I checked a national database of repairs, and according to the database the most common problem for your exact model with the P1763 code is the "Automatic Transmission Governor Pressure Sensor". Unfortunately I don't have an image of the location, but the Governor Pressure Sensor, is part of the Governor Body, which is attached to the Transmission Valve Body inside the transmission. In some rare cases the problem could also be caused by the Transmission Filter.

I just took my 2002 jeep gc in to the shop to get the throttle relay and cooling fan relay fixed a couple days ago and today I filled up my coolant to fill and now my light is on giving this code.

The P1763 is for the Governor Pressure Sensor, which is not related to the Fan Relay or Throttle Relay

On 1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo I had P1762 and 1763 at the same time, appeared after the filter and fluid change. Since the most probable causes are faulty sensor harness or connection, and harness and connections were ok, we changed the sensor. After about 50 miles 1762 showed up again, then after another 20 miles both 62 and 63 are back. I need to mention that after the change it runs and shifts much smoother and less noisy. Sensors are mostly all the same, and made in same place, but with different markings and abviously prices. They differ in o-ring and plastic parts qualty, also visually in materials used. Question: can the gov press. sensor be bench checked somehow? resistance or under power action, so that we can stop the circle of buying, installing new sensors, monkeying 14 bolts, fluid drain, fluid fill, road test? Actually for example on same car you can do it with oil pressure sensor - checking proper resistance on the terminals would prevent from several circles of buying new and installing blindly, only to see yet another failure on road test. Took my 1999 jeep grand Cherokee laredo 4.0 into a shop to have the sensors changed out I supplied the new parts from cascade transmission in Oregon these are the upgraded ones now got 2 codes p1763 an p0783 had p0783 before fixed that now it's back taking it back having shop look at it again they must have missed or didn't do something right but they want me to pay for them to fix whatever they did or didn't do could it have been a bad sensor or something else
