I have a 2003 Ranger with the 4 decliner engine and @150,000 miles. I received the error code P1702. When the accelerator is pressed the truck bucks like its missing. More so when the ac is running. Some of the bucking can be eliminated by disengaging the overdrive. Have replaced plugs and wires. Is this something I can fix?

The P1702 code is for the Transmission Range Sensor, but a faulty sensor will not cause the symptoms you have. Unfortunately the P1702 code is not very common and there almost no records, could be that the code is not related to the symptoms you have. The only record I found in a national database of repairs for your model and year with similar symptoms, was the Fuel Filter. If you have no other codes I recommend replacing the Fuel Filter first.

have a 99 Mustang GT 4.6l Auto Trans got this code P0705 and a P1702 and i put a brand new neutral safety switch lined it up on the marks. my O/D light is flashing still at me when i put it in gear only,
