The Battery Monitor Module performs internal diagnostics. The Battery Monitor Module communicates to the Body Control Module (BCM) Via LIN. The Body Control Module communicates the Battery Monitor module data to the Engine Control Module Via Serial Data. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the Battery Monitor Module detects an internal fault, or an error in communication of the alive rolling count is detected for greater than 10 counts.
