Code P15F8 2015 GMC Sierra Description

The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) and The Engine Control Module (ECM) simultaneously control the vehicle performance. During an automatic brake event, the electronic brake control module sends a serial data message to the engine control module requesting torque reduction. If the engine control module receives corrupt data from the electronic brake control module, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P15F8 will be set in the engine control module. The engine control module then sends a serial data message to the electronic brake control module that torque reduction is not allowed. The DTC will be set when the ECM detects a corrupted data message from the electronic brake control module.
